Summary: The ramp was closed as part of a Braddock Avenue/Kenmawr Avenue ramp replacement project. When construction ended on the new Braddock Avenue/Kenmawr Avenue ramp, the Department of Public Works decided to keep the Talbot Avenue ramp closed and demolish it to save on maintenance costs until the ramp is replaced.
Location: Talbot Avenue between Braddock Avenue/Kenmawr Avenue and Fleet Street in Rankin.
Traffic restriction: Full closure of Talbot Avenue between Braddock Avenue/Kenmawr Avenue and Fleet Street.

Estimated project end date: Fall 2029
Scope of work: Demolition and replacement of the Talbot Avenue ramp.

Public Meeting
The Allegheny County Department of Public Works, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) held a public meeting to provide information and answer questions about the Talbot Avenue ramp replacement project on January 28, 2026 at the Carnegie One Braddock Library.

Northbound toward Braddock Avenue/Kenmawr Avenue
Same as the southbound detour in the opposite direction
